Anastasia provided an interesting challenge in showing the difference between the past and present, as well as distinguishing between St. Petersburg and Paris. I found that the best way to create these differences was through the lighting. For St. Petersburg, I would use incandescent fixtures to give the city an older, warmer, more traditional feel. For Paris, I would use LED fixtures to create a more modern look. I would also use purple as a visual cue for scenes that take place in the past, helping the audience immediately recognize the change in time.
